Chris Adler at the Bienes Center for the Arts. Thanks to quikstang2 for uploading this. Awesome! Play in HD if your connection can take it.
Dire Straits - “Sultans Of Swing” (OGWT; Recorded: Jan. 1978; Broadcast: May ‘78)
Gold. Taped two weeks before they started recording their first record—a full nine months before it was released.
Featuring variations on not one, but two, of my favorite guitar solos.
The man pulls-off like a mofo.

Thanks Chris @ Cynical-C!
Lorry. ‘Nuff said.
They Don’t Know (About Us)
It seems I can’t get enough of Moneybrother’s version of They Don’t Know in Swedish (Dom vet ingenting om oss). Lately I’ve had it on repeat when walking to and from work, just listening to the same song over and over again. It’s just… sooo good. Older versions by Kirsty MacColl (original?) and Tracey Ullman are nice too. Browsing Spotify I found a dansband-version as well by the Drifters.
Speaking of the Drifters (well the original American band at least) I re-discovered their old hit Save the Last Dance thanks to an (not as) old Lorry skit. Peter, Johan and Claes – I love you!
Bruket from Fagersta. Sounds a lot like Florence Valentin which can only be good. Will definately see at Munken in the Park on saturday.
Late night boogie
Pinetop’s New Boogie Woogie by Pintetop Perkins. Just go listen.
Holy crap this is good! Bermuda Highway by My Morning Jacket. Also on Spotify.
Chatham County Line - The Carolinian
Damn fine! For those of you with spotify, check them out there too.
Fresh air? Bah!
I’ve been breathing nothing but southern rock from the seventies lately so when First Aid Kit released a new album I decided it was time to open the window and let some new air in. Refreshing. The break was short though – this baby landed at my door a couple of days ago. Some damn nice recordings on that album.
